My fiancee always wants to know why I’m studying the bible even though I’m an atheist. Well, here’s one reason. This is an incitement for assassination disguised as a prayer. If rational thinking people bothered to look up Psalms 109:8 they would be outraged. Not only for the fact that it talks about leaving his family in destitute and calls for his death, but the fact the entirety of that particular Psalm is meant for a call for vindication against the wealthy and uncharitable exploiting the poor. If you read the Psalm in it’s entirety, you’ll understand that 109:8 is the narrator quoting the evil accusers’ curses and then saying, “God, do all those horrendous things they want done to me but onto them!” So using this against Obama, who was a community organizer and is working for the poor and middle class, to be replaced by Romney, who got very rich putting people out of work and sending their jobs over seas, shows how much these people don’t even understand their own scripture and wield it in the wrong context.

109 O God of my praise,
Do not be silent!
2 For they have opened the wicked and deceitful mouth against me;
They have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
3 They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,

Yay Bible study.  Though one could argue that since they only called for 109:8 that they don’t mean the other consecutive lines about his children being fatherless etc, but that they want him out of office, and that his days in OFFICE be few… (just to show I can understand the other possible intent here…)
